The International Cycling Safety Conference (ICSC) is a forum for researchers and experts in the field of cycling safety to exchange their knowledge and bring up new research topics or safety solutions.
The conference started as a Dutch initiative of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, TNO, Fietsberaad (Dutch Center of expertise on bicycle policy), SWOV and Delft University of Technology and this year the conference will take place in Bologna, Italy. The 2018 Conference will be the 7th edition in an annual sequence.
The Conferences are organised in a way to facilitate the interaction between the participants. All conference papers are publicly available at the conference web-sites. All papers submitted for the conference will be peer-reviewed by experts in the field. Selected scientific papers from the conference are often published in a special issue of a scientific journal.
Topics for the conference include:
– Cycling mobility
– Bicycle accidentology, naturalistic observations and simulation studies
– Cycling behaviour
– Safety of children and young bicyclists
– In-bicycle devices to improve safety
– Road design, infrastructure, urban elements and traffic regulation
– Bicycle-motor vehicle interactions: driver behaviour, active safety systems and automated vehicles.
Do not miss the opportunity to attend the conference and visit the city of Barcelona. The conference will take place at Barcelona’s Center for Contemporary Culture (CCCB), in the heart of the city, a few minutes walk from Plaza Cataluña and Las Ramblas.
After the ICSC2018 guests will have an opportunity as well to attend the final event of the three Horizon 2020 projects InDev, PROSPECT and Xcycle that will take place on October 12th at Applus+ IDIADA, 70 km south of the city of Barcelona.
See you there!
